Miscellaneous July Fun

Eden and Bentley were great helpers with strawberry and raspberry freezer jam.

I love the beautiful desert sky - especially when it is freckled with hot air balloons.  What a beautiful place!
Even inside the play place at Chick Fil A, Bentley is still playing with Karly through the glass.  He loves her, and she loves him!

Karly Rose - 6 months old!

Karly's 6 month growth stats:
2 ft  2 in -- 59th percentile
15.6 lbs - 47th percentile
head circumference -- 95th percentile (typical of our children!)

Is this not the most adorable baby ever?!  I just can't get enough of her.... I adore her so much.  Getting pictures of her is getting a little more tricky - not because it's hard to get her to smile, but because she is starting to move around and want the camera! She is so much fun!
Karly is such a happy baby.  She is so incredibly expressive and smiley!  Everyone comments on her happiness and how quick she is to lock eyes and "communicate" with her funny faces.  She loves getting attention, and she gets plenty!!  Fortunately, she is a very patient baby when the attention coming from Olive can be a bit much.

Here are some other things about our growing girl:

-- Just this month she has finally mastered rolling over from her back to her tummy, and from her tummy to her back.
-- She is sitting now, and I love this phase!  She is so happy to sit with toys and watch all the action around her, but she isn't going anywhere yet!
-- She has discovered that her feet are very interesting and tasty.  If she is laying on her back, she loves having her toes in her mouth.  It's very cute.
-- She is still waking up around 4am to eat, and then goes back to sleep.  I have a love-hate relationship with this.  I do want to sleep through the night, however, this feeding is the only time that it is peaceful and calm so I do appreciate having this sweet time with her.
-- Nursing has been a bit of a struggle lately.  She seems to be getting really frustrated, like she isn't getting enough. It's been somewhat stressful, and having a two year old climbing on us while we are trying to nurse certainly doesn't help!  She does seem to be liking baby food a couple times a day though, so that's good.
-- She loves her baths!  Splashing in the water is tons of fun.
-- She is so quick to laugh, and they are good belly laughs!  She reminds me a lot of Bentley as a baby. He was always quick to get a good, hard laugh, and she is just like that.  Baby laughs are the best.
-- She is just growing so quickly, and I'm cherishing all the milestones as they come.  She is precious, and I can't get enough of her.

Everyone LOVES this baby.  She is such a blessing.

Bentley and Molly

Having an older sister means that Bentley is exposed to girls things.... like talking about who you will marry someday.  ha ha  As of right now, if you ask Bentley, he is going to marry Molly Haslam.  Looks like these two cuties are off to a great start.  :)

Lazy Days of Summer...

Wearing swim suits, eating popsicles, endlessly hanging out with friends, catching creatures.... just a few of the reasons why we love summer!

Bentley's School Work

Bentley is obsessive about his "homework" right now.  Any free time he has, he wants to be working in his kindergarten workbook.  In just the last month or so, he finished the whole preschool book, and is now charging through the kindergarten book (and these workbooks are almost 400 pages each!).  He is so cute to watch, and he sticks his tongue out when he is focusing, just like his daddy.  It has been amazing to see how far he has come in his writing abilities.  I'm one proud momma of this cute little boy.
He brought this coloring page home from church a couple weeks ago.  I thought he did a fine job on his coloring of our family.
I love my boy.

Slip n Slide and Silly String

I'm grateful for Brad for so many reasons, one of which is that he brings so much FUN and PLAY into our family.  I love these days spent together, filled with so much laughter.
