Grandma's Birthday
We asked grandma what she wanted to do for her birthday and her request was to spend the day together at "the beach". Before heading out to the sunshine though, I did sneak away with her for a nice pedicure first. :)
We got our toes looking nice and then headed out to the sand of the Rio Grande. It's a simple thing, but we do all have so much fun out there playing in the mud and swimming in the slow current.
The kids had made some cute birthday cards for grandma and then after our picnic lunch we ended our outing with some delicious birthday cake.Happy birthday grandma! We love you and we are grateful we could spend this day with you!

Spending the Day in Bosque Farms
There's nothing like long summer days in grandma and grandpa's backyard. The kids are so happy here.
And who would want to miss out on the amazing swing rides provided by grandma?! This swing sure flies!

Last Day of School
The last day of school! Yay!!! Both kids got to have a party in their classrooms before cleaning up and wrapping everything up for the summer. To say this year was a success is an understatement. Being in this family school took some getting used to, and some days were much harder than others, but overall we are all so grateful for the amazing year we had. And now let's get on with the summer break we have been anticipating for months!
I got everyone home and Eden and Bentley disappeared as I was getting lunch finished and cleaned up for the little ones. After a while I went to find out what they were up to so we could celebrate and I found them both upstairs reading. Party animals. :)
Dad got done with work early so that's when the celebrations could really begin. We pulled these two away from their books and headed to Bahama Bucks to continue the tradition of getting snow cones to kick off summer.

Mommy-Daughter Date for Activity Days
Last night I got to attend a super cute party with my sweet child for activity days. We had yummy sandwiches, decorated cookies and then played some games. I love hanging out with Eden, and seeing her with her friends too. It was such a fun night.
We also discovered that we make a pretty good team in the 3-legged race. When times got tough, I just lifted her a little onto my hip and we flew! It was so much fun.
Bentley's Final School Performance
Bentley's final class performance was an Irish dance. To say this was adorable is a complete understatement. Seriously, it hits my top ten list of cutest things I've seen in my life. These kids were trying their hearts out to hit that quick foot work and I'm not sure anyone but the teacher's daughter actually knew the real steps, but they all thought they did. Bentley was a dancing machine out there. He has the quickest feet! He also was concentrating pretty hard so he had his cute tongue sticking out showing his intense focus. IT. WAS. ADORABLE.
After that amazing dance, they each read us a little poem they had written.

Eden's School Play
During the month of May, the whole school works on a creative arts curriculum and each class has a presentation of some kind. Eden's class did a play and Eden wanted to audition for one of the main parts. She was so excited about it and practiced the lines hoping she would get the part, and she did! I was so proud of her that she would chose to have a part with lots of lines to memorize and so much attention on her! She totally rocked it!!
She worked really hard to memorize her parts and was feeling a lot of excited nerves before it got started. There was a big audience waiting for the show "Aliens in our School".

I was incredibly proud of her. She did amazing and looked so cute up there!
We love that grandpa Haslam totally photobombed our family picture.
Thanks for coming grandma and grandpa! Eden, you were amazing up there on stage!
