House Progress!
There has been so many exciting changes at the house this month. The beautiful detail and all the fun design elements are starting to unfold and I am loving every bit of it!!
The wood molding is going up around all the windows and doors. The wainscoting and crown molding is also getting put it. It looks amazing!
The pantry and closets are all getting their shelving.
The wood detail in all the kids rooms is getting completed.
Our custom made front door has arrived and is gorgeous.
The wood detail on the ceilings inside is also getting stained.
All the interior doors are getting painted and will be installed soon.
The stairs are getting it's custom railing and pedestals.
All the walls and ceilings got painted so now the tile has begun in the main areas of the house and in the bathrooms. It looks amazing!
We are coming every day at this point because the changes are so exciting to see. For months I've been working on picking all this stuff out so it is so much fun now to actually see it all coming together. Phew - what a process!

A Few Cute Kid Quotes
---When we were at Disney World, we were discussing fast passes for the seven dwarfs mine ride and Karly interrupted the conversation and said "Do you have any slow passes for me? That's too fast."
---Karly's recent bedtime prayer:
"Thank you that monkeys stay in the trees.
Thank you that trains stay on their tracks.
Thank you that cars star in the road.
Thank you that people stay on the sidewalk."
---Karly was upstairs getting her dress on for church, and the rest of us were just downstairs in the kitchen and living room area. I heard her coming down the stairs before she loudly exclaimed "presenting.... Me! and I'm so pretty!" said in her best announcer voice.
---When Eden and I were out of town, Brad took the kids to dinner at Texas Roadhouse. At the end of the meal, Brad gave the server his card and told the kids he was going to charge him. Olive said, “you have batteries?!”

---This is how Karly currently sings the months of the year:
January
29th
March
And April...
Who needs February when you can have a birthday instead??
Who needs February when you can have a birthday instead??
---Brad went to help Olive get ready for bed and he walked in to her room as she was "working out". He watched her for a bit as she did crab walks, and planks. He finally said, "Olive what are you doing?" and she said "I'm training to beat Bentley!"
Cotton and Oranges for Sale
The Haslam family was over playing and we were in the backyard hanging out while they enjoyed the sprinklers and kiddie-pool. Before long we noticed Bentley and Molly working on something that seemed very serious and organized, making signs and all. We just let it all play out and watched as they set up a little stand out front. Turns out they decided to sell oranges and cotton puffs from out of the trees. ha ha Despite living on a corner that gets very little traffic, they did end up making a few bucks. These two are very, very patient and sat out there for a long time with nobody ever driving by. They are the cutest.

Sunny the Baby Turtle
For many years we have had turtles in this backyard and we had never seen a baby until today. Karly came across this cute little guy in the grass today, but unfortunately it had already died. Despite that though, she was so excited and fell in love with this baby. She got Olive and together they named him Sunny and took care of him until the rest of the family came home.
Later that evening, the group decided that burying Sunny at the new house would be a good idea so he could always be with us. We went and had a nice little funeral for him and he now rests under the driveway.
Olive really had a hard time with it and was very sad about Sunny being dead. She sat over by his grave for a long time, after everyone else had moved on.
Brad was so good to be with her while she cried her quiet tears.
We won't forget you baby Sunny! We hope to have new babies to love very soon.
