Miscellaneous Happenings....
I just came across this picture in my cell phone and thought it was funny. We rode to a family night activity with our friends the Picketts, and I just thought those two daddies looked cute all tucked back in the back with the kids. :)

I actually got a picture of Eden purposefully smiling at the camera! I guess she was so happy to be at the park that she forgot that she always closes her eyes and makes a weird face for pictures.

This little face is just so precious. I'm sure I attacked her with kisses right after I took this... and I'm even more sure she probably really appreciated it.

Bentley still loves riding in the car. I'll cherish that while it lasts!

Brad taught Eden how to play "slap jack" and it's pretty funny to watch how intense she gets. I love how she holds her her arm up high ready to slap at any moment.

Here's a more typical shot of Eden these days... little stinker.

It definitely makes it more complicated, but I love my two little shopping buddies!

Eden had an eye exam and had to get her eyes dilated so she got to wear the awesome eye doctor glasses. She completely cooperated, until we got outside into the bright sun when those glasses mattered the most.

Bentley sat only long enough to get the picture above and then he toppled over and looked somewhat distressed. Eden thought it was pretty funny though.

When I saw this picture Brad had taken, it reminded me of something that should be in a scary movie... weird. It's just a picture of Eden on her video baby monitor, but it's still kind of creepy.

Really Brad? You gave our 3 year old Gak for her birthday?? What a mess...

Eden and Ruby are such good friends. Most of the time Eden is on her trampoline, Ruby is up there with her.

Eden got this cool magnifying glass for her birthday so she was studying the ants while I was searching for the can of Raid to get rid of them!

Bentley - 2 months old
These two months with Bentley have flown by!! If only pregnancy went by this quickly... sheesh!
Bentley's 2 month stats:
12.4 pounds - 47%
23.2 inches - 40%
and his head is in the 67%
Bentley has been such a blessing in our lives. Don't get me wrong, it's definitely been an adjustment getting used to balancing the needs of two kids, and I'm still trying to figure out how to get back to a functioning routine, but overall it has been so good.
Bentley has his fussy times sometimes, but overall he is such a good baby. While I was pregnant with him, I read the book "Babywise" so I could get some techniques and it's definitely worked to help get him into a good and healthy sleeping routine. Since he was about 7 weeks old, he has been sleeping 7-8 hours a night, then he gets up to eat, and then goes back to sleep for a couple more hours. It's definitely helped me get some sanity back now that I'm sleeping better. Thank you Bentley!
He is so smiley and loves to "talk" back to us. It is the most adorable thing and I just can't get enough of hearing his little voice.
He has changed so much in just two months and I'm cherishing every single day with this little guy. Here's a picture from my phone taken back in April.

A couple pictures from my phone, taken in May.

And a whole lot of pictures from my phone taken this month, in June.

He is definitely his happiest and most talkative in the mornings. I absolutely love starting my day off like this....

Bentley's Blessing Day
On June 10th, the Sunday after Eden's birthday party, we were able to have Bentley's baby blessing while all our family was still in town. Brad gave Bentley a beautiful blessing, and I'm so grateful for the Priesthood he holds and the wonderful father that he is.
Bentley has been such a tremendous blessing in our lives, and I'm so grateful to our Heavenly Father for allowing us to raise this amazing little boy. He looked so handsome in his blessing outfit, and I still can't help but just marvel at him and his cuteness :)

I'm so grateful for all these good men and the important roles they play in the lives of my immediate family. In the photo, from left to right: Chad Pickett, Grandpa James Malarsie, Uncle Dallen Harding, Brad and Bentley, Grandpa Barry Justice, and Uncle Greg Justice.

And here's the whole group of family supporters there for Bentley on his special day.

A huge thank you to all our extended family for their love and support for our family. I feel so very blessed. Life is good!
And to finish off the post, here's one more picture of my handsome little boy!

Eden's birthday party
We had a big birthday party for Eden down at my parents house and it was so much fun! The best part about having a summer birthday is that it's nice and hot and there's tons of fun water activities! This year we rented a big water slide which the little kids, and the old "kids" (aka teenagers and dads) all enjoyed. We also had little swimming pools, a slip-n-slide, and all kinds of fun sprinkler toys on the hoses. Anyone who was bored at that party was definitely a party pooper! :)
We had a big brunch buffet, complete with waffles and fruit, bacon, sausage, and eggs. And then of course, the typical cake and ice cream for dessert. It was a lot of work, but very delicious! A big thanks to all the extra hands there to help me out!
We are also so grateful for all the family and friends there to celebrate Eden. Our local family was all there, plus Grandma and Grandpa from Tennessee, Greg and Steph and their kids from Colorado, and Tiff and her kids from Colorado. It was quite the party! Most the time I think Eden was a little overwhelmed, but we had so much fun getting to hang out with family from both sides. And of course, our besties Chad and Annie and their girls (who we pretty much classify as family too) were also there to celebrate. Thanks everyone!

I'm so grateful for Brad - he is such a fun dad and uncle!

This cake was so much fun to make! It was definitely a lot of M&Ms and patience though! :)

There is quite a story behind this Barbie bike. We got this from Michael and Jesse back in December because Kaedence had gotten another bike. We had it "hidden" in our garage but Eden saw the box several months ago and got so excited about it. We told her it was for her birthday and then did a much better job hiding it. Since she saw it, she has been talking about it and singing songs about it. We successfully held her off for months so it's an uderstatement to say she was excited to finally get her Barbie bike.

She was a little nervous everytime her cousin Maddie would get close to the beloved Barbie bike. :)

Thanks again to everyone who came to celebrate, and for the many gifts. Happy birthday Eden! We love you!
