Karly's 3rd Birthday!

How is my baby 3?!!  Say it isn't so!   It's gone by fast, but I have cherished every step of the way with this one, and she makes it all so fun, and mostly easy. ha ha
This lucky one got to have a double celebration this year.  Grandma and grandpa were leaving on her actual birthday, so we had a party the night before with them, and then a party on her real birthday too.  She, of course, relished all the love and attention.  So for her birthday dinner with grandma and grandpa she chose chicken pot pie.

Then we gathered for her present opening.  This is such a fun age where every reaction is a big, dramatic one.

She loves the show "Vampirina" right now and was excited to get a DVD with several episodes.

She loved hearing all the nice things written to her in her birthday cards.

She got a big array of lip gloss and was very kind to share with her sisters.

After presents was cake time!

This year she wasn't even scared of the poppers after she blew out her candles.  We have officially turned a corner.

Thanks for coming to celebrate with us grandma and grandpa!

Karly got measured on our growth stick.  Funny coincidence - she is the exact same height as Bentley was at age 3.  Twins!

She got a new book all about the little girl who lost her name.  She was so surprised to get to the end of the story when the girl found out that her name was Karly. :)

Then the birthday girl was worn out and couldn't even make it to her bed.  Sweet dreams baby girl!

And then it was time for her real birthday and another fun-filled day. A great tradition for the littles is to decorate a birthday shirt to wear for the day.  This is what Karly wanted to do first thing when she woke up.  Olive was a very good helper.

Once her shirt was done, it lead to a dance party to show off all angles of their creation.
This little one is full of personality.

She was so excited about her new presents!

We also got to bake another cake together.  She really wanted a flower cake so that's what we did!
Blowing out candles on a cake two nights in a row?!  That's basically every 3 year old's dream come true.  She LOVED her flower cake.

The Picketts were able to join us for the birthday party tonight.  They helped us eat the cake and celebrate Karly once again as she opened more presents.  She sure felt all the birthday love this year!

That night as I crept in to check on her before I went to bed, my heart filled with love as I saw her still sleeping like a baby with her bum in the air.

Oh Karly..... as long as I'm living, my baby you'll be.  Happy birthday my love.

Funny Things Kids Say

Conversation with Brad and Eden last night as she was preparing for bed:

Brad:  Eden, anything on your mind or heart you want to discuss?
Eden:  Yeah.
Brad:  What?
Eden:  You know how Mom asked if I thought Zac Efron was cute when we were watching High School Musical?
Brad:  Yeah.
Eden:  [Giggling].  Well, I think think Adam Drive (Kylo Ren), is cuter than Zac Efron.  [Blushing and giggling].

Then Brad proceeded to look up pictures on his phone of both so she could compare and contrast and explain why she felt that way.  His response, "Oh, dear.  It starts."

At dinner often times we like to pull a question from our "table talk" question book.  Today the question was, "If your house was on fire, what would you take when you left?"

Before anyone could even answer, Karly blurted out "Oh grandma, you'd take all your mints, right?"

Karly LOVES to get mints from grandma first thing every day when she sees her. She knows right where grandma keeps them, and it's become their greeting ritual of sorts now.  Apparently, that's the most important thing at grandma's house as far as Karly is concerned.

House Progress

Things are coming along so quickly over at Casa Fiesta!  This framing stage is so exciting with how quickly things change from week to week.  We love to go by and see the changes and are beginning to really visualize everything.  It's SO exciting!
The framing on the porch has just begun!  They just put in our beautiful exposed beam trusses.  I love them!
It really is so amazing to see how our ideas on paper are becoming a reality!
