Candy Deal Pay Out

 

Another year of the candy deal!  These guys have another $100 in the bank now after a long year full of lots of temptations, but they did it!  These three didn't have any candy for another whole year!  We talked about it after and here are some of the things they said they learned doing the candy deal:

- just because you want something doesn't mean you need it

- it's good to tell yourself "no" sometimes

- it is hard, but I feel proud for sticking to the goal

I'm proud of you guys and your self discipline and self control!  I hope you remember these good lessons learned and transfer them to other areas of your lives too!

New Year's Eve

It's New Year's Eve which means the 3 oldest kids who were on the candy deal get to eat candy today!  I'm just so proud of them and the lessons of will power and self control they have learned doing the candy deal!  Enjoy your candy today kids!

For our New Year's festivities, we filled the house with friends for dinner, fondue dessert, and games. We love being able to host and celebrate with the people we love!  We were determined to make it to midnight, though I still think going to bed is a much better idea.

These 4 almost 14 year olds got to attend their first church dance tonight for New Year's.  They were all a little nervous about the slow songs, but they were excited and so glad they had each other to be "first timers" together. 

And here's the last of the crew that made it to midnight.  We watched the ball drop and shot off the party poppers and then off to bed we went!

Karly and Olive's Fashion Show

These two asked to borrow my phone and I later found out they were doing a nice runway photo shoot with their dolls Mia and Amelia too.  I love their cute setup to make the end of the runway fancy.  I'm so grateful they have each other to play together!  It's the best kind of childhood when your siblings are your friends. 

 

The Cat Cafe with Grandma

Grandma is the absolute best at finding the most random and memorable things.  She heard about the "Cat Cafe" and invited all the kids along.  Bentley graciously passed, but the girls sure did love this fun and random experience!  They got to spend time playing with cats and kittens for a couple hours, and they were in heaven!

They came home begging to adopt one, but they will just have to go back to play again soon!  Thanks grandma for this fun and memorable outing!

Enjoying our Christmas Break

Last Christmas we were gone the whole break, so this year we were all really looking forward to plenty of downtime at home to play, relax, and be together.  It ended up being such a lovely week hanging out at home, getting out some, but just taking a break from our usual routines.  It was perfect.

Karly and Olive both got a Tomagotchi pet for Christmas and they have been very good caretakers of these beeping little creatures.  I remember having one as a kid so it's so funny to me that these have come back in popularity again.
