The PICC Line

We were discharged from the hospital while Eden was still getting a couple different antibiotics through her PICC line. It was a pretty cool administration system that I had never seen before. Inside this ball was the medication and it was already preset to give her the dose she needed. One of the antiobiotics needed to be hooked up continuously so the only time we unhooked it was when I had to put the second antiobiotic on the line twice a day. The problem was that she had to have a ball of medication attached to her 24 hours a day. It very quickly became a huge hassle to try to hold it and follow her around so we had to get creative with ideas to attach it to her so she could carry it.

Eventually we were able to get her a little backpack which ended up working out the best. In the meantime though, she was a champ at wearing it in a net and pinning it to her shirt. She is so cooperative when it comes to these types of things which is such a blessing!
