A few weeks ago we were able to travel out as a family to Jacksonville, Florida. Brad had to be out there to speak at a Northwestern meeting, so the group flying him out were so amazing and offered to pay for the whole family to come and stay in a nice resort on the beach. It was so amazing.... all except one small detail... hurricane Sandy. We happened to be in Florida when it was working it's way up the coast, so it put a little damper on the vacation, but we still had an amazing time together.
Friday morning while Brad was out at his meeting, the kids and I took a walk and explored a little. The resort stretched out alongside the ocean and beach which was so beautiful. Unfortunately, the wind was HORRIBLE coming off the ocean and Eden was so bugged by her hair blowing in her face. She attempted to still smile for the camera though.
When Brad got back that afternoon, the weather was horrible outside so we decided we needed to find an indoor activity. Some people recommended the Meuseum of Science and History so we thought we would give it a try. There were a couple things that were interesting to Eden, but she was actually scared of way to many exhibits so it ended up not working out for too long. It was still fun though for the time being.
The balcony from our hotel room looked right out over the ocean which was so beautiful. The waves were huge coming in from the hurricane so it was kind of cool to just sit out and watch them wash ashore.
We had some down time in the room watching movies, taking naps, or playing a lot of Hide-and-go-seek. But when we could convince Eden to go out in the wind, it was fun to go down on the beach and collect all the sea shells the big waves were bringing in.
On Saturday, we did a little more research and found a Children's Museum that we knew would be better for Eden than our previous attempt. This museum turned out to be so much fun! We were there for several hours and she absolutely loved every minute of it.
That night we saw a gorgeous sunset and I couldn't help but feel so much gratitude for the beauty of this world that our Heavenly Father created for us!
Sunday was our departure day but we didn't have to leave for the airport until that afternoon which was such a huge blessing because the wind was finally subsiding, and the sun was shining! We watched a beautiful sunrise over the ocean. It was a great start to our last day in Florida!
It was a little chilly outside, but that didn't stop Brad from wanting to hit the pool. Afterall, we couldn't take a trip out to Florida and not get to swim!
Overall, the weather was a little disappointing, but we still had such a great time being out of our normal routines, and together as a family. I feel so blessed to have opportunities like this to experience new things with those I love the most. And thanks to my creative and fun husband, we now have a backyard windchime made from the shells we collected on the beach to remind us of our fun trip!

Bentley's First Tooth!!!
Guess who cut his first tooth, with one more following closely behind it?! Yup.... this cute little guy.
They are coming in on the bottom, and you can hardly see them (especially in these pictures), but they are coming through! He has been a little more moody than normal, but still so quick to smile. We sure love this boy and the happiness he brings into our home. He is growing up way too fast though!

Kadence & Lincoln's birthday party!
A few weeks ago, we were able to go to a combined birthday party for Kadence and Lincoln. Kadence turned 4 and Lincoln turned 3. We were so happy Jesse and the girls could come visit, and so glad we could celebrate these two cute kids together!
Unfortunately, I was way off my game that day and didn't take any pictures, so thanks Kally and Jesse for sharing what you took!
Here is Brad's funny pumpkin. He is such a fun guy.
Jesse took this really cute picture of Bentley and my mom. Unfortunately, it looks like Bentley's face got run over by a bicycle, but it's just a bad shadow from the tree. :) Oh well, he's still adorable.

Eden's fun while we were away...
While we were away in Mexico, Eden had tons of fun with grandma, grandpa and Erin. Thanks mom for all these cute pictures!
