Mud Party!

I think it's safe to say that some of my kids best childhood memories will come from things they have done down in Bosque Farms at grandma and grandpa's house.  What kids don't love to get invited over to play in a giant mud pit?!!  Well.... Olive maybe, but the others had a blast and played in there for hours!

Towards the beginning, Olive ventured in a little bit, always on the edge, but she got her hands muddy.  There was no way she was getting in though, and it wasn't long before she found other more entertaining things for her - like the swings, goats, and food.  :)

London and Olivia are so darn cute together!

After a good cleansing, they finished the night with a story from grandma.

Look at the hand holding of these two cuties.  Precious.
I'm so grateful for my parents and the fun adventures they provide at their home for their grandkids. It's so much fun!

Park Days!

This stage of life is so fun. We are able to spend so much time with our closest friends. Our kids play, and all the moms visit, laugh, and solve the world's problems.  I feel so blessed to have these amazing families in my life.

At this stage, it's just slightly unfortunately that the families we spend the most time with (the Picketts and Haslams) have girls so Bentley is extremely outnumbered.  He doesn't seem to mind though. He has figured out which girls like to wrestle and play super heroes, and which ones don't.  :)

Check out Magnolia and Olive on the end.  These two girls are such cute friends and are always doing their own thing - together.  :)

Fortunately for Bentley, he has Curren Baker and is getting more and more "dude time" in so he can do what guys like to do.... like for example - playing "Bop It".... ??
These two were actually quite creative because they were fighting over who's turn it was, so they decided to split the functions and they could both play, plus they could get a higher score.  Pretty smart little dudes.  :)

Olive - the daddy's girl

This is the face of a broken hearted little girl, who's daddy has to leave to work.....
It's tough trying to comfort her every day when he leaves. She loves him so much and always wants to walk him to his car as he leaves.  Then she says, "Daddy, you'll come back, right?"  He is so sweet to her, and I know it must make him sad to back out of the driveway with this face looking back at him.  She is such a sweetheart, and she adores her daddy.

But the good news is.... he always comes back.  :)

Hiking in the "Blue Mountains"

From our house, if we look across town and to the east, we have a beautiful view of the Sandia mountains.  Because of the way the light hits during certain times of day, they look blue so when I told my kids we were going to spend the day hiking in the mountains they were so excited that we were going all the way over to the "blue mountains".  We packed up a picnic and grandma came along for a fun day exploring outside.

We had a blast walking along some trails, collecting caterpillars that were everywhere, and exploring the great outdoors.  The kids really loved it, and I don't know why I don't take them to do this more often!  It was beautiful.

When we came upon this cave, they tried shining their flashlights in and couldn't really see anything. I was so surprised when I suggested they go in and their response was, "OK!"  and off they went.  They were very brave. I even went in a bit and got creeped out, so kudos to them!  Olive wanted no part in that.
We came upon this strange burial site of a big bird.  We could see it's head and feathers under one of the rocks.  The kids thought that was very interesting for sure.
We had such a fun day, and I'm so glad grandma could join us too! I hope we can go again soon.
