"Branding" Casa Fiesta

The backyard sidewalk got poured today. We had intentions to get out and do the kids handprints, but by the time we got home the cement was already too far set. We resolved to writing their names with a stick instead. What you don't see in the pic, is also the words "Casa Fiesta" and Ruby's footprints that she had made earlier that day when nobody was looking. It's officially ours!

Olive's Haircut

Last time Olive got a BOB haircut was because she decided to do it herself. This time, fortunately, I was the one to do the trimming! She was so excited about that long ponytail that got chopped off. That short haircut just really fits her personality. She looks adorable.
And what happened to the long ponytail you ask? Guess who put that there! It wasn't me, and it wasn't Olive!

Olive's Smile is Infectious

I can't help but smile anytime I see this cute smiling face. Olive's smile really is so infectious and has been since day one. When she smiles her eyes twinkle and her whole face lights up. She brings such joy and so many "feels". I love you Olive.
And I have to also mention that her outfit choices also really make me smile. So much personality in this girl. You wear it well, no matter what it is.....

Playing games in their pjs...

This is a common sight on Sunday afternoons around here. Playing lots of boardgames, cozy in pjs! It's the perfect Sunday afternoon.

Snuggling with the sleepy "baby"

Karly baby - you're so cute when you're sleeping. Everyone wants to cuddle with you! Be warned though - she is not happy when you wake her up!

Olive's Big Broadway Performance

This past sememster, Olive has been taking a musical broadway theater class with a lady who teaches out of her home. Until we showed up for this performance, I had no idea she had so many students. Olive's group sang and danced to 3 songs, did some solos, and were the backup singers to some of the older groups. Olive was a bit nervous at first when she saw how big the audience was, but she got over that quick and was a star on stage! It was so much fun to watch her up there doing what she loves. In this first photo, Olive is the second from the left in a red skirt.
In this second photo, Olive is just to the right of the microphone with a cute little smile on her face.
Olive was so excited and so confident up there!
It was so enjoyable to watch her up there, and this show was long and the audience was full! She was so brave. And everyone was so excited for the root beer floats at the end.
And thanks for coming to support her too grandma and grandpa!! Olive - you rocked it!

The Sharpie Headstones

Today we found dead bird out on the patio. Using his investigative skills, Bentley was able to show us the bird's last moments by finding dust and feathers stuck on the window where the bird hit. He wanted to make sure this poor little guy had a proper burial so we sent him out to the backyard against the wall with his shovel and the bird wrapped in some tissue. We later discovered that he also gave the bird a proper headstone (as well as the baby turtle "Sunny" who died long ago) with Sharpie permanent marker right onto our wall. Well - that's just adorable. I wonder how long it will last.
