Our 8 week session of ice skating lessons has come to a close. These kids all improved and learned a ton! It was such a fun afternoon activity for them to spend time skating, and then we would always get hot chocolate from Dutch Brothers on our way home. I love that they have so many opportunities to try new things, and I love our Monday homeschool days which allow us to do things all together.
Today was a pretty crazy day for Bentley. Honestly, I'm still not really sure how he felt about it overall. He just says, "it was fun, but so tiring." Today was his last basketball game of the season, and was also a pre-season tournament for soccer. He has three friends that are on both his soccer and basketball team, so the four of them were all in this same crazy boat today. We started with a 9am soccer game in Bernalillo, then straight to a basketball game at noon in southern Albuquerque, and then straight back up to Bernalillo for a 2:30 soccer game. He played hard, and ran his legs to the bone. I wish he could have worn a pedometer because we both would have loved to know how many steps he took that day.
It was a huge celebration for us here in NM when our governor finally lifted the mask mandate! Hallelujah!! Shortly after, APS lifted the mandate at schools and the kids could not have been more excited and happy. We were all hugely celebrating the fact that we would see smiles again!! It's been two years since my kids have been at school without a mask. That is crazy, and a significant amount of time when you're in elementary school and each year is a major portion of your life. It's about dang time....
Before heading out to school this morning the kids posed for a picture and showed off those beautiful smiles! Then they proceeded to tear up the masks in celebration.
It's been such a fun season of basketball! Bentley is playing for the Warriors, and that name is totally fitting. These boys are an awesome team, with an amazing coach. Bentley has learned and improved a ton this season, memorizing and carrying out plays and understanding the real strategy of the game. Also, he scores every game which is very important to him. It is so fun to watch! Go Warriors and go number 2!

Today we got to celebrate Valentine's day as a family, with a fondue dinner and dessert. One can never get enough fondue! It was fun celebrating this tradition with the kids and extended family too. We had a great night together with those we love!
