Carving Pumpkins

Grandma and grandpa joined us this year for pumpkin carving.  We had our Halloween playlist blasting and away we went!  Eden and Bentley were pretty set on doing their pumpkins all by themselves this year.  They were very cute to watch.

Olive couldn't help but make all kinds of sound affects every time she stuck her hands into the slimy pumpkin. She always brings the fun to whatever we are doing.
Karly was not a fan at all and couldn't be convinced to stick both her hands inside.
Eden and Bentley were having a blast though as they prepared their pumpkins for carving.  They loved pulling out all the "pumpkin guts".
Bentley was very slow and meticulous in his carving.  He is a very patient guy when it comes to certain things.
Grandpa was very good to help Karly and Olive scrap their final guts and carve their faces.  Olive was very particular about exactly how she wanted it.
Eden did such a good job carving that cute, round mouth!
Bentley's pumpkin makes me smile.  What a cutie he is.
We lost Karly in the process because she was not interested for long.  She told grandpa what kind of face she wanted and off she went.  When her pumpkin was done, it was delivered to her in the sandbox.  Thanks grandpa!
Happy Halloween everyone!

Halloween Party at the Balloon Museum

The Halloween festivities are really starting to ramp up as we are getting closer to Halloween.  The kids are getting excited.  This year we heard about a fun Halloween party at the Balloon Museum so we decided to check it out.

At the entrance, the kids were all given a trick or treat bag.  They were all really intrigued by the lady's costume.
There was a pumpkin carving contest.  Bentley was very focused and dedicated to carving a great pumpkin.  All the girls gave up pretty quickly.
Inside the museum they had several different trick-or-treating stations.  We also stopped for an interesting 3D movie.
And a favorite stop in this museum is the balloon simulation game where they get to take off, fly and then try to land their hot air balloon.  We had a few tough landings, but they have so much fun with this.
Happy Halloween from the Balloon Museum!

Slice N' Dice Date

"Hey Bentley, wanna go on a bro date?"
The approach may not have been the best, but Bentley sure loved his lunch date with dad to "Slice N' Dice" where they had pizza and played some board games.  These two can never get enough games!

Wicked!

We love going to see the Broadway shows when they come to Popejoy.  This year we were very excited to take Eden and Bentley along to see Wicked.  It was also the first time grandma and grandpa had seen this show, and it is one of the best!
The cast was amazing, the show was so good, and the kids loved it.  I am so grateful for these experiences together!

Soccer time for Bentley and Olive

Yay for soccer season!!  It's my favorite! I love watching Bentley play and increase his skills every year.  This guy is FAST!  He is definitely one of the quickest to the ball, and he has some good foot work.  He is a natural leader for his team, and everyone loves him.  He is an awesome forward - scoring all the goals - and is an fierce defender, stopping the other team before they score.  Well done Bentley!

Go Sea Hawks!!

This year is Olive's first year playing soccer.  She has been an absolute blast to watch.  She cheers her team on as she is out on the field "Go Sophie - get the ball.  Shoot it!"  She isn't one to be aggressive and get the ball herself, but she is very vocally supportive of coaching her teammates to do it.  :)

She also tends to get her team really excited and riled up and ready to go. She too is a natural leader, but tends to be leading them in cartwheels rather than focusing on soccer.  She is such a hoot to watch.  This girl is always the life of the party, even on the soccer field.
Go Blue Eagles!

With two soccer games on Saturdays now, plus Olive's soccer practice, we spend a few hours out at the fields and I love it.  The weather is beautiful and it feels so good to be outside.  Some of the others don't seem as jazzed about it all as I am.
Eden always says she is hot and tries to find whatever shade she can under dad's chair.
Grandma and grandpa also joined the cheering squad a couple times.
Yay for soccer!!

Family Pictures

This month we were able to do family pictures with Heidi Christensen.  I am so grateful for these pictures.  There are so many beautiful shots.  I love them!
