Courage Exercise, Sleepovers, and a Baby Blessing

A couple weekends ago we were able to spend the weekend at grandma/grandpa's house. Tiff and Cam and their kids were in town too and it was a blast. We had tons of fun hanging out and letting the kids play.

Brad discovered that the water pressure was strong enough to hold the clown fountain against his chest and then he could use his hands for other more important things (like dancing for example) while still squirting the kids on the trampoline. ha ha

My parents set up a tough mudder obstacle course for the kids, complete with walking the bridge over boiling water (dry ice), hula hoop track, going up slides, through mud and tunnels, over straw bales and up ladders. It was so much fun! They did the course several times and it was cute to watch the bigger kids helping the little ones along. Thank you grandma and grandpa!

And then it came time for our annual courage exercise. Brad was the brains behind it all this year and he did a great job. First, we needed our war paint... Bentley wanted to look like a superhero, and Eden wanted to look like a cat. ha ha

The creature of choice - super worms. They had hard shells, tons of legs, and they moved really fast. They looked pretty disgusting but the kids were all so brave and dug around until they found a worm and they had to pick it up and put it in their cup. It was so cute to watch all their different reactions to those nasty worms. Bentley was a little nervous at first and he grabbed it and dropped it a couple times before it made it into his cup. Eden was a champ as usual and didn't even flinch as she filled her cup up with worm after worm. By the end of it, Bentley and Eden were the only two left who kept playing with the worms.

And then came the best part - check out this dessert!!
Brad you are a creative genius. Thank you for finding the world's biggest gummy worm and making a pot of delicious "dirt". So much fun.

P.S. as a couple random side notes before I move on - (1) I am a fan of gummy worms, but taking a big bite out of this one was actually really disgusting, and (2) we took all those super worms home and fed them to our turtles who LOVED them. :)

To finish off an already amazingly fun weekend, we were then able to be together for baby Cooper Asay's blessing. He is such a cutie.

I'm so grateful for my family and all the fun traditions and memories that we create!
