Utah Family Reunion

We were all so excited to get up to Utah to explore and spend time with family.  It was a long road trip, but Karly was interested in watching some shows now which made for periods of very pleasant drive time. Why does Utah have to feel so far away?!
We drove out on Sunday, and first thing Monday morning we packed everyone up and headed down to BYU.  Eden and Wren immediately connected and just picked up where they left off.  These two are so cute together.  They hold hands everywhere they go, and chat and giggle constantly.  It's so cute.
We went to the bookstore and got some new Y attire.  When I was posting this group photo I noticed Eden and Wren have their stuffed animals on their heads.  ha ha
Olive picked out a cute little cheerleader dress.  This girl loves her dresses!
Another adorable little girl couple - Olive and London. These two are so funny together.  They are like little 3 year going on 16 year olds.  Spicy!
Hours and hours of cousin time. It's so fun being together and watching my kids make memories with their cousins.

On one of the days we went up to the canyon.  Before hitting the trail, the kids got a great little lesson from the park ranger.  They were all actually really intrigued by what she was teaching them.
It was so beautiful out there!  There was a nice path that circled the whole lake area.  On one side in the shade there was still snow, but it was really warm outside.
It was really tricky to keep our group together!  The big kids were far ahead, the babies and toddlers in the back, and all the adults spread out somewhere in between,
Here's all 16 cute cousins. I wish we could all be together more often!
We had a nice picnic lunch after our walk, and the kids enjoyed exploring and finding fun in the great outdoors.
Back at the house during our down town there was a lot of game playing going on!
Karly found this red dress in Sophie's room and was hooked.  She wore it whenever she could and would spin and say, "Oooohhh pretty dress."
We spent one day at 7 Peaks Water Park.  It was a blast!

It's a good sign when you leave a water park and all 4 kids fall asleep before we even get to the main road.
On one morning we were able to drive north to meet up with the May family.  We had a fun time hanging out with them and reconnecting.  The kids were so happy to see each other.
Bentley and Abby spent so much time together from the time they were babies until Abby moved away. These two have a special bond and it was very cute to watch them together.

On another day we drove out to the Bonneville Salt Flats to take family pictures.  It was about a 2 hour drive, which became the perfect nap time for all the exhausted children.  So much playing and not a lot of sleeping meant that any drive in the car resulted in sleeping children.
Out at the Salt Flats it was gorgeous!  It was such a beautiful back drop for pictures.  Unfortunately, it was the craziest and windiest day I have ever experienced!  It was the kind of wind that took your breath away it was so bad.  Children were blowing around, everyone's hair was crazy and out of control for the pictures.  Karly couldn't stand being out there.  She screamed and cried the whole time we were out there.  It was so bad! We were all so disappointed because we drove so far, and it was so gorgeous and we just rushed through a few pictures so we could get the crying baby and toddlers back into the safety of the cars.  Jesse is amazing though and still managed to get the pictures done in record time.
It was such a great week together.  I'm so sad that my siblings live so far from me.  I miss them so much, and miss my kids being with their cousins.  We need to buy an airplane I guess....

I’m glad we are now getting regular Utah adventures. It’s a great place for fun family memories. However, snow in the mountains on our hike in June? Not good. I hate snow.
