School Begins!

How is summer already over?!  It went by way too fast that's for sure.  Today is back to school day!  There are definitely mixed emotions for us all over here.

Eden will be in 8th grade at a new school - Tony Hillerman Middle School.  Go get em' Eden!  Fortunately there's a big group of boys and girls there from surrounding wards that she already knows so she will have a great group of kids she is already familiar with for lunch, and in her classes.  She is nervous and excited for this whole new journey!

Olive is in 3rd grade with Mrs. Fox - again!!  We thought Olive would be getting a new teacher this year because Mrs. Fox has always been a K-2 teacher, but we found out she was moving up to teach grades 2-4 this year and Olive couldn't have been more excited.  It's pretty crazy that she has had the same teacher since she began kindergarten!  Olive loves school because of Mrs. Fox, and she sees her as her hero, so we are grateful that she has so much love for Olive.  So no nerves for Olive - she knows what she is getting into and she can't wait!

Bentley is in 5th grade and will be with Ms. Jen again.  He is looking forward to having so many buddies in his class.  He is also feeling pretty confident going into this year with knowing what to expect with his classroom teacher and classmates being pretty similar to last year.

And Karly will be in 1st grade!  Since Mrs. Fox is moving up, she will be getting a new teacher who is also new to the school - Mrs. Stephanie.  Karly is feeling pretty nervous about starting school, and really sad about not having Olive in her class anymore.  She said, "But mom, who will give me hugs when I am missing you?"  Olive was always so sweet to help comfort Karly whenever she was having a hard time last year.  But Karly will still have some similar friends in her class as last year, and I have no doubt she will adjust great!

And as for me?!  It's a bitter sweet day.  I love summer and the time to be with the kids, and friends, and letting our schedules emerge with whatever is happening at the time.  However, I also love getting into new routines, and having opportunities for time to work on projects - like this blog.  Maybe I start to get a little more caught up when I can be home alone?!  Hopefully!

Here's to a wonderful new school year of learning lots of new things - socially and academically!  I love you kids and am cheering you on all the way!
