Taylor Swift Concert!

This year Taylor Swift is doing her worldwide ERAS tour, and I got so incredibly lucky and was able to get 6 tickets to the show!  This concert was not even at all on my radar.  I had heard in the past how insane it was trying to get tickets to her shows, and I knew I was not a "Swiftie" and wasn't going to do anything crazy, or pay anything crazy, to try to be there.   The show was in July in Denver, but way back in, I think, January, Erin Haslam text me and said, "we should both try to get tickets to Taylor Swift because it would be so fun to take the girls."  So I had her walk me through the process, which involved getting registered to be a verified fan. Then only a small number of verified fans would be eligible for the presale, and then only a small percentage of those would actually be let into the ticket sales.  Somehow, by some crazy luck, I was one of those people!  I just ended up buying as many tickets as I could (6) in the nosebleed seats, which were $100 a ticket.  Sadly Erin didn't get into the presale and wasn't able to get tickets, so we couldn't take all the girls.  She was put in a tough spot to decide which one of her girls to bring!

The girls were all very excited to go to the show.  Eden wasn't as much of a Taylor Swift fan at the time, but we were all looking forward to experiencing their first concert together, and getting wrapped up in all the fun energy surrounding Taylor Swift.

So the week leading up to the concert, we starting making friendship bracelets to wear to the concert.  It was fun to listen to her songs, and make the bracelets together.

Even grandma and grandpa got in on the bracelet making fun!  They were helping us sort all the letter beads so we could spell her song titles on our bracelets.

It made for a fun experience to make these bracelets together, and started getting us all more excited about the songs we knew.

Meanwhile, Bentley was enjoying his quiet time out in the pool.  He doesn't like Taylor Swift, and has been very patient with us as we have been playing her music more to prepare us for the concert.  It's always way more fun when you can sing along, right?!

Friday morning, we left Albuquerque on our road trip to Denver and the concert was that night!  It was sad to leave Molly and Magnolia behind, but with Erin and Avery coming, everyone had a concert buddy!    We got stuck in a lot of traffic so we got into Denver much later than anticipated.  So we quickly checked into our hotel and dropped off our bags, and then went straight to Mile High Stadium for the concert.  The original plan was to get into town around 3:30 and get something to eat and then go to the show, but we hurried straight there, and finally got into the concert venue around 6:30 and we were starving!  By the time we got our food and found our seats, we didn't get to have hardly any time for exchanging our friendship bracelets, but the girls got a few trades in, and still got to keep some of their favorites that they made.  We were getting excited!

We really were so high up in the nosebleed seats for sure!  It did take a bit for Olive to feel comfortable though because we were so high, and the energy of the crowd was shaking the ground beneath us, which made her really nervous!  I don't blame her.  It was a little eerie feeling the ground shaking under our feet, but then I reminded myself and her that this is usually full of large men, football fans, so surely all these women and girls were just fine.

The energy of that place was electric, and there really wasn't a bad seat in the house. The benefit of being up high is we had such an awesome view of the lights on the fans wristbands and how they changed colors and became part of the show.  It was incredible and beautiful to watch.

Then the countdown to her arrival began and the anticipation was building!  My favorite part was watching my girls experience this.  They were precious, and so excited!

We all sang and danced, and got into the fun with the whole crowd.  The energy was like nothing I've ever experienced!  73,000 people there that night! Going through all the eras of her albums was so fun, and all her costume changes and set props were incredible!

After three and a half hours, the show finally came to an end and we were sad.  ha ha   We got to hear so many songs from her entire career, and it really is amazing what she has written and accomplished.  I had forgotten how many songs of hers that I really loved, but never really hear anymore.

The little ones were really worn out. It was almost midnight by the time we got out of the stadium, and almost 2am before we got back to our hotel.  The traffic was a bit insane!  We partied ourselves out for sure!
The next morning everyone slept in a really long time. It was good catching up from that late night/early morning bedtime!   I loved their cute glitter faces, just sleeping away.
By mid morning, we were all finally awake and ready to explore and play in the Denver area.  We spent several hours at the outlet mall shopping, and ate lots of yummy food.

That afternoon we went and got pedicures.  This was also a first time experience for my three girls.  All three were incredibly giggly and ticklish.  It was so fun.

After dinner we stumbled upon a little bookstore and browsed there for a while.

Then we just enjoyed a nice walk through a little park area.  Everyone was just enjoying the down time and fun together.

That night we got the most unique and interesting dessert.  It was a Korean treat place where we ordered "SnoBalls".  We were several bites in and still trying to figure out what it was, and how they made it.  I think we decided it was very finely shaved ice cream, we think.  Anyway, it was delicious.

That night everyone very easily fell asleep again after a long and fun day.  Then Sunday morning we ate at the hotel and hit the road home.  It was a whirlwind of a trip, but one to remember!
Back at home, the boys were also able to do some fun adventures of their own!  The "bro time" was supposedly pretty fun.

It was an incredible weekend.  So fun to be with the girls and experience their first concert, and their first pedicures, and their first real girls trip.  I'm so glad we could go with Erin and Avery.  It was all so fun, and now we are all coming home as Swifties.  Poor Bentley - we all thought after the concert the Taylor Swift hype would die down, but now we all love her music even more.  Hang in there Bentley!  ha ha
