Bosque Farms Fun

There's not a lot that I dare to go out and do yet when it's just me and all four kids. Grandma's house is always a great option though. They love it there. There's nothing better than playing in dirt and feeding farm animals. Olivia especially loves those goats!

Baby Friends

What's better than having some best friends?  When you get to go through pregnancy, labor, and having newborns together. It has been so much fun! And they are the perfect people to complain to when I need it because they COMPLETELY understand. We each had our 4th baby within four weeks of each other.

Annie Pickett's baby Eliza is in the white.  She was born on February 4th. I think she was 2 days old here.
Karly is in the middle - born almost one week before Eliza.
Erin Haslam's baby Jude was born a few weeks earlier on Jan. 7th.

So cute, and it will be so fun to watch them grow up together.  And for the moms? We get together often to let our little ones play while we take turns nursing our babies.  It's the best.

The First Two Weeks as a Family of 6!!

Today Karly turned 2 weeks old! I had her first doctor's appointment and she is growing good and doing well.  Today she was 8 lbs, 3 oz.  Honestly, it makes me a little sad that she is growing. I want her to stay tiny and snuggly for a little longer! It all just goes too fast.

These past two weeks have been great though - aside from the lack of sleep and normal breastfeeding discomforts. Brad was able to take the whole first week off of work which was so nice. Eden was going to school, Brad would take the two little ones out for some kind of errands or adventure most mornings, and I was just taking advantage of all that time to hold my sweet baby and cherish this bonding time with her. It was so wonderful. Everyone was very sad when Brad had to return to work - except maybe Brad who was itching for some productivity again!  I'm so grateful for the time he was able to be here though. He has been so helpful!

We have also had lots of visits from grandma who is so great to come check on us and help keep the kids entertained. We have also enjoyed getting out of the house and walking to the nearby park. It's been good!

Karly is such a sweet baby. She is very chill and not really fussy or sad much. She LOVES to be held though and really doesn't stay sleeping long when I try to put her down. I love the time to hold her, but this may get a bit trickier as life moves on! She has not been lacking attention around here for sure. Her siblings adore her and want to take turns holding her often. She is so sweet and we have loved having her here.
(The picture of Karly's toes) Thank you Grandpa Downing for passing on this trait. I am one of only two out of my siblings that didn't get at least a little webbing of the toes. I thought my family was going to miss these gene completely, but little Karly got just a touch of the webbed toes.  It's actually pretty dang cute.
Karly looks so much like her brother!!
I love seeing all my babies together. I am so blessed.

Having a new baby in the house brings such a sweet spirit and so much love. Karly is perfect for us and we are so happy she is here and healthy. We love her to pieces and can't imagine our family without her now.

Karly's First Bath

I have lots of little helpers in everything I do.

Precious baby girl all nice and clean!  Bentley was especially happy when her umbilical cord fell off. He was pretty grossed out about it every time I would change her diaper. I was pretty happy when it was gone too so I could get this girl really cleaned up and smelling fresh. There's nothing like snuggling a freshly bathed newborn. Love it!
