Walking Through the Flowers

We like to go to the Bosque and go for walks along the river, throw rocks, chase ducks, and just enjoy being outdoors. Today we decided to leave the path and "adventure" through the river edge to see what we could discover. Turns out we stumbled upon some beautiful wild sunflowers! Bentley was frustrated with our wondering and kept trying to lead us back to the path so we didn't get lost or wonder aimlessly (all about efficiency!) but the rest of us were enjoying our mindless wondering through the flowers and brush. Sorry Bentley - you just had to take one for the team this time.

Putting Up Some Wallpaper!

There are so many fun (and very easily removable) wallpaper choices. I had a really hard time narrowing it down, but what we've got up so far I LOVE! It adds so much fun and character. Yay for some personal touches popping up here and there!

Eden and Sign Language

I came across these pictures of Eden doing sign language with her primary class and it brought back so many memories of the years with her that we relyed on sign language when her voice wasn't strong enough to be heard because of her trach. We just went back into our old videos and watched her as a toddler and how she would try to talk and use sign language. I was able to fill in so many gaps and understood so well what she was communincating, but she also learned so many signs those first few years and as I watch those old videos, I am reminded of a very sweet connection that we had with one another. She did her best to sign the basics, and I filled in the rest of her sentences for her. Watching those old videos brought back so many memories. It was a beautiful thing to see.
Eden you are so precious.

Just waiting on this house....

The kids do a good job at finding way to entertain themselves while Brad and I are meeting with workers. Aren't they just the cutest?! I love them.
Grandma and Grandpa are SO CLOSE too. They are slowly starting to bring a few things up here and there. Did I mention yet that we are all getting really antsy to move in here?!!!

Olive and Bentley's Project Presentations

These projects at Coyote Willow are kind of a big deal. They need a lot of help putting these together, but it's been so incredible to see them gain confidence and skills presenting them to the class. These are no ordinary 5 minute elementary school presentations. The requirement is to have plenty of pics and info on the slideshow, then questions to the class to engage discussion, and some sort of activity. So all in, they are presenting for 25-35 minutes. The experience they are gaining in public speaking at such a young age is priceless. The presentations were each about Santa Rosa and we had such a fun video commercial mixed in there during the presentation. Bentley and Olive both loved doing this presentation.
Good job you two! Grandma and Grandpa also came to watch their presentations which is so fun to have them come and support the kids like this!

Karly Goes to Preschool!

To say that Karly is excited to go to preschool is a complete understatement. With the other three going to school, even with all our fun activities and bike rides, this little one is itching and begging for her turn to go to school. A good friend Megan Davis is teaching from her home and it is the perfect fit for Karly to go there a couple days a week. She is thrilled!!
She not only survived her first day - she loved it! And I'm not going to lie - I kind of loved my alone time too. :)

Just a day in the life....

So many piles..... because someday I'll forgot - or so they say...
