5 lb of pure cuteness!

Yup... that's right, she's now a whole 5 lbs!

So to celebrate, she got a new outfit! So here she is before... she knew the outfit change was coming and was trying to hide.

And here's the new outfit! She's a total cutie! It's so much fun because she is starting to fit in more preemie clothes now!

So back to the really important news - we found out this morning that she still has some sort of organism growing in her lungs. She has been getting antibiotics for this infection for a long time now, but that bug is not going away! So unfortunately, this will most likely delay our plans for extubation next week. The doctor doesn't want to try until she is totally clear of anything going on in her lungs. She will start another round of antibiotics, maybe something a little stronger this time, and next week the doctor will re-evaluate the plan and decide what to do next.

The good news is that the way they tape her ET tube here is much more secure so I'm able to hold her everyday. As long as that's happening I can be a little more patient. :o)

She will also be getting her 3rd eye exam on Tuesday. Those are never fun for her. Hopefully we will continue to get good results there.

Hooray! She's reached the 5 lb mark! And new clothes are always fun. I'm so glad you get to hold her more now. I'm sure that's a huge boost in morale for you!! And I'm sure she's loving too. :) We'll be praying that her next round of meds kicks that infection in her lungs!

Maybe the stronger antibodies will make it so things are little more successful this time. Fingers are crossed.
