Fun in Moab!

Because we were all going to be in Moab for grandma's funeral, we decided to take the opportunity to have a mini reunion while we were together.  We were excited to get out there and spend time with the family.

Road trips continue to get easier and easier from a child care perspective.  This baby is content with her binki, blankie and a show of some sort.  All the kids did awesome (now if I could just keep myself from getting stir crazy!)
We are very strategic with our travel time as well so we can try to get the nap time during the drive.  This made for a very quiet stretch for a while. Beautiful.
On our way into town, we decided to stop at the Hole n' the Rock museum and petting zoo.  The kids thought the museum part was pretty boring, and it was tricky keeping them from touching everything, but the zoo and feeding the animals was a huge hit!
The ostriches were the most scary to feed.  They were just really fast and strong and would either dig really hard into your cup, or try to take the cup completely.  I love this picture of Bentley feeding them, with his eyes closed and bracing himself for whatever was going to happen.
Karly and Olive said the Zebra was their favorite.
And of course, everyone was very happy to get an ice cream or popsicle from the little store there (even if they were slightly freezer burned).
By the time we finally rolled into town, the Asays were there and waiting for us.  Michael and Jesse stayed in a hotel, and Kally and Dallen could only come in for the day, but the rest of us rented a house together and it was so much fun.
It was so good to see all these cousins back together again.  We miss being together so much.

Unfortunately the weather was pretty stormy that weekend so we didn't get to do nearly as much swimming as we had hoped, but we had a blast anyway.

On our way home we took a detour to see the four corners monument.  Grandma and grandpa were traveling home behind us so it was fun to stop here together.
Overall it was a great trip.  It was hard saying goodbye to granny Moe, but so sweet to spend this time with our family.  We can't wait until the next time!

It was sad to say goodbye to Granny Moe, but at the same time a celebration of a long, beautiful life.

Our Moab adventures were lots of fun. I'd love to go back and explore some more in the future.
