The week of balloon fiesta is my favorite week in Albuquerque! I love seeing the balloons in the sky every morning as we are going about life as usual. Today there was an awesome view of the balloons during Bentley's soccer game. So fun!
This year we got up nice and early and went for a morning glow, which is my favorite. There was a really cool light drone show that was new this year, and really cool!
There was some morning wind so the mass ascension was delayed, but the kids enjoyed going around and collecting balloon cards while we anxiously awaited the call if the balloons would be able to go up or not.
Then finally the green flag was raised and up they went! Yay! It's always the worst when you get up so early, and brave the cold and then the balloons get cancelled. We have been fortunate to avoid that for several years now.
It was so fun to be there with the Murdochs and seeing the twins reaction to all the balloons. They were adorable!
Brad and I posed for a picture and randomly found ourselves as part of a gender reveal going on behind us. It's a girl! Yay!
Grandma was in Utah so we missed her there, but it was fun to have grandpa join us in between his work duties.
After walking through the balloons for a while, we found a nice spot in the grass to sit and watch the rest of the balloons take off. The kids took this as a chance to run around, wrestle, and try out some pyramids.
We always leave there feeling so happy and uplifted after a great morning with the balloons. We love you balloon fiesta!
