Teaching kids to work has been one big challenge of parenting that I didn't appreciate when I was dreaming of motherhood. We have a pretty good groove down with the kids and their weekly chores, but when I say a "good groove" it means we have a consistent plan, but it still often is quite a mental workout to get them accomplished with minimal whining and terrible micromanaging. Today I got a kick out of Olive's note back on her chore list, which says, "I will try my best - my way of cleaning." ha ha Can you tell we have had discussions about what actually constitutes as clean?
I sure love these kids even when they make me crazy. Someday they will be grateful that they contributed around here, right???
