Date Night!

The last couple weekends, Brad and I have tried to squeeze in a few date nights before our little baby came and made getting out a little more difficult for a while. Last Saturday night, Chad and Annie joined us and we had such a great time. We went out to dinner, and then during dessert we decided to have a little friendly competition to spice things up. Before getting our dessert, we stopped at the dollar store and each couple picked out a 100 piece puzzle that the other couple would have to complete during the race. We got to Bahama Bucks and got our snow cones, and then the competition began!

Chad and Annie could not be distracted by a photo op - they were taking their duck puzzle very seriously. :)

But ultimately, Brad and I could not be stopped. All our puzzle time with the kids has paid off, and we successfully finished first! :)

Thanks Chad and Annie for a great night out! We love you guys!

Due Date! 40 weeks!

Well today is the day - the due date at least - I'm pretty sure it's not "the day." I had a doctor's appointment last Monday and am dilated to 3cm and about 40% effaced. I've been pretty crampy and am having sporadic contractions, but so far nothing to get too excited about. The anticipation is both extremely hard and extremely exciting at the same time. Part of me is tempted to just ask for an induction and get it done, but then a bigger part of me is loving the anxiousness of it all and I'm trying to soak in the experience as much as possible. What a crazy experience pregnancy and labor is. This time around I've really looked at it in a different light, and though it definitely has some very hard things about it, it's such an amazing experience that is so beautiful. When I know this won't happen for me many more times in life, it puts it into a different perspective, one in which I try to cherish each exciting part along the way.

This pregnancy has gone so smoothly and I feel so incredibly blessed. We sure are anxious and excited to meet this little girl! Hopefully it will be very soon!

Here I am in my large, pregnant glory. :)

Sleeping babies...

I love watching my babies sleep. It's so peaceful and adorable, and I always walk away feeling so incredibly blessed.

Random Picture Update

The weather has been beautiful lately and we have enjoyed spending a lot of time playing at all the parks around here.

I cleaned my carpets which was a project on my "to-do before baby" list. I breathed a big sigh of relief when that one was done.

Meanwhile, while I was cleaning my carpet and Eden was at school, Bentley was having a tea party with his BFF Abby. These two are so cute together.

Bentley was playing the iPad at grandma's house and fell asleep! I was shocked when I found him like this because usually if he has the iPad or is watching TV there is no way he would fall asleep. Poor guy was extra worn out apparently.

Eden always wants me to take pictures of her and Ruby. She loves that dog and that dog loves her! I find them cuddling or hanging out together quite often.

Bentley is starting to be much more interested in "helping" me cook. Sometimes I love having the kids in there with me - and sometimes it can be a little too much "help" and I have to find something else for them to do before I lose my mind. :)

Carson was sitting in the car seat, minding his own business, when Bentley came along and wanted in. Carson wasn't too excited about getting out though so Bentley just sat right down on his lap and that did not go over well! Poor little Carson.

Eden has been really curious about colors lately and what happens when you mix them so the other day, while Bentley was sleeping, we got out all the paints and experimented with mixing colors. She was thoroughly entertained for a very long time and has remembered pretty good what colors mix together to make other colors. I love watching her learn and discover new things.
