Santa Fe Overnight Get-Away

From another competition at work, Brad was able to win us an amazing overnight date. Originally it was supposed to be for a weekend at a resort in Phoenix, but because our kiddos are so little we decided it was best to arrange it to be a little closer to home and just for one night. Chad and Annie very graciously allowed Bentley and Eden to stay with them for the quick day and a half that we were gone so we appreciate them so much for making it possible for us to go!

We had such a fun time exploring Santa Fe! On the way up we stopped at the Mormon Battalion monument that is just off the freeway a bit. It's pretty cool to read about the history and the pioneers who crossed that very spot!

We had lunch and did a little shopping at the outlets for a couple hours.

Turns out we ended up in the Presidential Suite at the resort and it was amazing! It had a bedroom, two living rooms, a room with a pool table, and two bathrooms. It was very southwestern which was kind of a cool feel for something different.

We spent the rest of the afternoon down in the plaza going through some fun shops, the Palace of the Governors Museum, NM History Museum, and we saw lots of the beautiful, very old cathedrals.

We also spent a lot of time eating some very delicious food.

Olivia was so good the whole time. She just hung out in her stroller and took little naps while we pushed her all over the town. She was such a happy little companion.

And then we had to hunt down this little machine. I can't remember for sure where Brad heard of these (maybe a magazine?) but there are refurbished cigarette dispenser machines that now dispense original little pieces of artwork. It was on his bucket list to get a piece of art from one of these machines so when he found out there was one in Santa Fe, we had to track it down. We got a nice little blown glass piece of art, and checked something off his bucket list. :)

Overall it was such a fun little getaway and I'm so grateful for the time we were able to spend together exploring a new place. I'm so grateful for a hubby who works incredibly hard (and who loves a good competition!) so we can have opportunities like these on someone else's dime! ha ha
