Eden's 13th birthday!!

I can't believe we have a teenager in the house!  How did she get this old so quickly?!  At the same time though, she has been through a lot and has a very mature spirit so part of me also feels like she could pass as being a wise older teen :).  Her real birthday was the beginning of the family reunion so she had the best of both worlds - a birthday party with friends earlier in the week, and then her actual birthday with cousins.  It was awesome!

For her party with friends, she wanted to keep it a small group, with only a few of her closest friends, and it was perfect.  Eden came up with all the ideas and was so excited to have her buddies Vienna, Avery and Molly.  They started the night bleach dying some t-shirts together.  They are in a phase of wanting to be matching and couldn't wait to wear these matching shirts with the matching shorts they bought at the mall last week.

Then after pizza, we played a board game escape room.  It had some pretty complicated parts, and we lost the focus of a couple friends here and there, but we solved it!

Then it was time for presents and donuts.

They spent the rest of the evening in the pool and loved swimming in the dark the best.   It was such a fun night and Eden felt very fulfilled with her friends.  I'm grateful she has this sweet crew, and they look so cute in their matching t-shirts!

On her birthday she woke up to a breakfast feast with the extended family.  She slept great, and woke up so excited for her birthday with cousins!

She got to open presents in front of a huge audience this year! That was lots of attention which was fun.

She was excited this year about receiving a jewelry holder that she fell in love with when we were in Costa Rica.  She didn't know that we secretly bought it and have kept it hidden until her bday.  She was very surprised.  She also was excited to get some ear pod headphones (used, but exciting for her!), and a cute new backpack.
Then we all enjoyed some delicious ice cream cake, and lots of swimming!

We finished the day marking her height on the board to see how much she has grown over the past year, and it has been a lot!
It's official - we have a teen, and she is growing like a weed.  We are so grateful for friends and family who helped her feel so loved on her birthday this year (and always!).

Eden, we love you so much.  Having you the past 13 years has been an absolute treasure.  Because of you, I have grown so much and I am a better and stronger person.  You make me so proud and I am always in awe at the beautiful person you are inside and out.  Thank you for being one of my greatest treasures.  Happy birthday baby girl!
