It's inquiry time! These projects can be a fun way to explore what the kids are curious about. This year, it was a real team effort though to pull this all together as Eden and I were out of town so much in April. We tried to get as much testing and writing done as we could before I left town, and then dad helped them assemble their boards and practice their presentation skills. It was a whirlwind for sure, but all three little curious scientists did great.
Karly and Olive wanted to test to see if different kinds of candy had different chemical reactions in different kinds of soda. This was definitely a lot of fun to test, though we learned a lot of lessons along the way about things we could have been more prepared for. There was a lot of squealing going on during this testing phase.

This year Bentley designed his project around coding a video game on Roblox. Now this was something I knew nothing about and couldn't help him much at all. We did sit together for an interview with an engineer from "The Electric Playhouse" and she taught him about coding, and creating games that people like, and answered a lot of his questions. It was a really cool interview and I think he learned a lot from her. Then he watched a lot of YouTube videos and did a lot of experimenting. In the end, he had created a couple different versions of games, and then had family and classmates test them and rank their desirability. It was really impressive to see the amount of coding he learned and the cool games he created. This was also the most effort he has put into a project - ever! It was really awesome to see him follow through and work through the points where he would get stuck and need to fix the coding. He was very disciplined a learned a lot about coding, and a lot about his persistence. So awesome!

Well done little inquiry team! Another round of projects complete, with a lot of help and support from the whole family. I'm grateful for their efforts and their curious minds!
